Merchant Navy Day is held annually in the the U.K. on 3rd September. This date may vary slightly for individual events.
London:
Merchant Day Memorial Service on Sunday 7th September 2008 at the CWWGC National Merchant Navy Memorial at Trinity Square, Tower Hill, London (near the Tower of London). Details from the Merchant Navy Association website.
Dover:
Dover M.N. Day. The Unveiling Service of the new Merchant Navy War Memorial will be held on Marine Parade, Dover on Wednesday 3rd September 2008. See Press Release.

Arromanches, Normandy France.
A Memorial Service and Parade will take place in the Museum Square on the seafront at Arromanches. Wreaths or floral tributes can be laid at the Merchant Navy Memorial adjacent to the D-Day Museum.
All are welcome to attend.
